Week 2: Daily PIPES Habits – Connect & Sharing

Your success in your business and that of your teams will almost always be determined by your consistency and proficiency in these 2 daily Habit skills . All of us come into our business with a network of people we can connect with. Some with a big network of people, but most of us start with a small network of family and friends. All of us will reach a place where we will need to grow our network both online and offline.

Connecting With The Right Mindset

As we set out on an incredible month of new connections, we want you to remember the source from which you will take action. Remember that it is always about finding out what needs people have and genuinily matching those needs to solutions you can offer. Action #2 Create a statement or phrase that will help you remember that you are here to serve not sell.

Daily Habit #1 – Connecting

The biggest mistake we make as wellness advocates is to forget the importance of building relationships. One our favorite acroynms when building relationships is F.O.R.D. (Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams) Lets say you reconnect with a friend through facebook and you guys start talking. Are you going to tell them about doTERRA first thing? NO. you are going to show interest in them (Family, Occupation, Relationships, Dreams).

Connecting with Your Current Social Media Friends

Each of us already has a list created for us through social media, but most of us neglect or even forget that each friend is a real person. Some of them have been watching what we are up to and maybe even already have questions about essential oils. Start connecting with your friend’s lists and followers expressing genuine concern for who they are, what they are up to and what matters to them.

Action #3 – If you haven’t already started, begin connecting with 2-3 new people each day. Either from your social media friends or followers or old phone contacts.

Transitioning The Connection To An Invitation

So you have connected with someone new, you have built a relationship and you want to transition your new connection to an invitation to a sample, class or one on one. See page 9 of the launch guide for more examples of invitations

Here are a few transition phrases and examples below

  • 1. Would it be okay if…..
  • 2. I’m just curious, are you open to trying _______?
  • 3. Would you be open to learning how _____.
  • 4. Hey I just noticed that you (have been battling the flu, just had a baby, have been working out a lot)

    Action #4 – Begin transitioning some of your new connections to invitations for samples, learning more about doTERRA, learning about the business or a class.

    Sharing Skill #3 What Do You Do For Work?

    One of the best ways to start conversations is asking people “What do you do for work?” Inevitably they will ask you, “What do you do for work?” This can be a great opportunity to use one of the following responses below. Listen to the training audios for an indepth understanding of one of our favorite skills.

    Action #5:Review the examples and come up with 2 “What do you do for work?” responses that you could use as you connect with new people that would create curiosity.

    Tracking New Connections

    As you begin your connecting and sharing you are going to need to keep track of all of the new people you have sampled to. One easy way to do this is with “FACEBOOK friend lists”. You will see on the image on the left where you can find FB Friends Lists Feature. Create a new list, name it and add only the people you are connecting with, when they enoll you can move them to an enrollment list. You can also use the Connections tracker attached which helps you stay organized with Google Docs Open The Connection Tracker Google Doc by clicking the button below and under VIEW click “make a copy”

    Action #6 – Determine what way you will use to track your new connections so that you can follow up and nurture those relationships

    Week 2 Daily Habits Challenge

    – Challenge #1: Network Growth Message Blitz Dedicate 30 minutes and start reconnecting with your Facebook friends list or Instagram followers. Your goal is to connect with 50 new people this week. (or if you are not on social media people, contact on your phone or locally). Send a simple message via text, FB messenger or Instagram Messanger. Start conversations! Just see how they have been, what they have been up to, how their families are, their work.. etc. Look out for birthdays, births, celebrations or ways that you can make them feel special. Continue to connect with two new people a day.
